Chef Mark Malicki–of Cafe Saint Rose, Saint Rose and, long ago, Truffels’ fame–has been cooking several nights a week for quite some time now at The Casino Bar & Grill in Bodega.

Casino Bar & Grill is a landmark in Bodega but what many non-locals don't realize is that minors are allowed until 10 p.m.

Now he’s returning to his popular barbecue, which has had several homes (Andy’s Produce & Bill’s Farm Basket among them) over the years.

Here’s how it will work.

On Fridays, beginning August 12, he’ll serve from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, he’ll be open from noon to 10 p.m. This week’s menu includes Carolina-style pulled pork; Kansas City-style short ribs; Kurobuta pork belly; jumbo wings in a pepper-vinegar-butter sauce. Single plates with a choice of two sides are $16.

Sides include macaroni & cheese, baked butter beans, cole slaw, collard greens and fresh shucked corn pudding. Sides are $6 each.

He’ll offer three sandwiches, too: smoked pork belly with baby bok choy kimchee and hot Chinese mustard aioli ($11); pulled pork topped with barbecue sauce and cole slaw ($10); chopped brisket with cole slaw and Oregon horseradish ($11).

For dessert, there’s rice pudding with Highway 12 strawberrings for $6.
