Tomorrow, the Sonoma Valley Certified Market hosts “Make a Pet Out Of a Pumpkin,” a pumpkin-decorating contest. To participate, all you need to do is bring your already-decorated pumpkin pet with you.

Pumpkin carvers are incredibly inventive these days.

One warning: There will be lots of little ghosts, goblins and such from nearby schools at the market.

Like all markets at this time of you, the Sonoma Valley market has a bountiful harvest of late summer and early fall fruits and vegetables, including all manner of pumpkins, in case you are getting a late start.

The Sonoma Valley Certified Farmers Market takes place year round on Friday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon. It is located on First Street West in the parking lot of Depot Park, across the street from Depot Hotel.
