If you’ve been complaining about the summer that didn’t happen, congratulations, hot weather is here. For now, you can forget summer comfort foods. It is time to return to favorite recipes for the dog days of summer. It is time for chilled soups.

I’ve rounded up favorites from Seasonal Pantry and each recipe is guaranteed to provide a delicious hedge against the heat. A current favorite is Yogurt Gazpacho, for which I recommend St. Benoit Yogurt, made in the town of Bodega and sold in quart jars, or Strauss Whole Milk Yogurt, also available in large sizes.

Yogurt Gazpacho is a delicious and healthful way to cool off on a hot day
